The Pekingese dog is originally from China and is recognized for being a very old breed. They are dogs of reduced height and with a skull with brachycephalic condition, that is, with a flat nose. It is a dog with a longer than tall body frame and short legs. Its head is round, with round eyes, wrinkles on the forehead and flat snout. Its coat is usually long and its ears are long and superimposed on the face. Its coat has 2 layers or cloaks and is abundant and smooth. The tail is quite hairy and raised.
